California State Parks

The California Department of Parks and Recreation manages more than 270 park units separated into 12 regions where the most diverse natural environment and wildlife can be found with the Golden State.

This project consisted of the rebranding of the entire California Department of Parks and Recreation’s identity, which incorporated the synchronization of brand elements. These elements included the brand identity, brand extensions, communication system, website, applications, map, and identity style guide.

Hand-painted by watercolor, the logo and imagery of the brand shows the spirits of sunshine, wildlife, freedom, and fun. It features an abstract paw print of the California grizzly bear, with the individual toes representative of sun rays.
